Foundation Teacher Scholarships Available; Applications Due April 5

The C-FB ISD Educational Foundation has three teacher scholarships available.
  • Kathy Shelton and David Roberts Family Endowed Teacher Scholarship - In 2002, this scholarship was established to honor the memory of the David Roberts Family who was killed in a plane crash in 1992 by Leroy (a retired C-FB ISD teacher) and Erma Roberts, and Kathy Shelton, a C-FB ISD Content Mastery Teacher at Ted Polk Middle School. On December 24, 2002, Kathy Shelton died as a result of complications from surgery. At that time, the Roberts asked that the name be changed to honor their daughter Kathy along with David and his family.

The scholarship is for a teacher who is working toward a master’s degree or a doctorate in special education and/or working toward a special education certification through a university teacher certification program. For more details and the application. Application

  • Suzy Hagar Endowed Fund for Gifted Education Teacher Scholarship - The scholarship was established in honor of Ms. Suzy Hagar, who retired from Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD after serving as the district's Executive Director of Advanced Academic Services.  The fund  provides a teacher scholarship to support teachers’ continuing professional education which furthers their understanding about the social, emotional and academic needs of gifted children.   Suzy Hagar Scholarship Application
