Creekview Teacher Named Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Creekview teacher Liz Lancaster who was honored and recognized by the K.C. Edington Memorial VFW Post 8923 as the teacher of the year.  Ms. Lancaster was recognized for promoting citizenship education in the classroom and school. Ms. Lancaster's award reads, "For her valuable combination of formal education, real-life and professional experiences in the Carrollton Farmers Branch Independent School District and for being a model of integrity, focus and dedication to her students and future leaders."

Are You Registered to Vote?

The Office of the Secretary of the State has created a website with voter registration information and applications. Visit www.votexas.org. The deadline to register to vote in the May elections is April 12.

You will find voter registration applications in your county election offices. Post offices and libraries also have the voter registration applications. However, the application can be found on the state's voter information website. State Voter Registration Website

Smith Senior Wins DAR Scholarship

On Feb. 24, Newman Smith High School senior, Anna Lewis, received the DAR Prudence Alexander Good Citizens Scholarship. The scholarship of $800 was given at a ceremony in Dallas.
