METSA's Rockets to DC to Compete

The Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC team) went to Washington DC to participate at a national competition with their rocket.  While their success at the national level didn't match their success to qualify, the TARC team had an amazing trip.

They were able to attend a breakfast hosted by U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen.  At the event they met distinguished guests and other competitors and discussed their rocket and future aspirations.  Their rocket was definitely the most talked about because they hand made about 90% of it.

They were able to tour the Air & Space museum that houses the Space Shuttle Discovery as well as a great deal of other spacecraft and aircraft history.

Finally they competed with the other 99 teams and were witness to about 150 rocket launches throughout the event.

They were awarded the “Best Dressed” team at the competition.  The team members are Dustin Call, Mark Cordova, Jawaad Gadhia and Tripp Illingworth.
