Folklórico Club at Central Elementary

Central Elementary teachers, Mrs. Mayberry and Mrs. Lozano created a Folklórico Club for fourth and fifth grade boys and girls. The mission of the Folklórico Club is to give students a sense of pride and self-confidence through dance; while serving and creating a partnership with our community. Teachers and students have worked diligently from the beginning of this school year. Teachers have held fundraisers at school functions to raise money to purchase performance outfits and club t-shirts. Carrollton businesses (Fiesta Mart, Chili’s Restaurant and Tipico’s Mexican Restaurant) have generously supported this club by donating items for all fundraisers. Students have continued to show dedication and enthusiasm by attending weekly rehearsals after school. The Folklórico group has several Cinco De Mayo performances scheduled at Central Elementary, Blair Elementary, McLaughlin Elementary and Strickland Intermediate on May 3, as well as an upcoming performance at Fiesta Super Market on May 4.
