Smith Debaters Prepare for State Competition

The Newman Smith Debate team continued its preparation for the State Championship Tournament with a competition at Flower Mound on Jan 28. Several students placed at the tournament. Newman Smith Debate is coached by Mr. Chris Agee and Mr. Robert Martin.

Individual results:

• Tanya Rajan- 2nd place, Extemporaneous Speaking
• Diana Pop- 3rd place, Extemporaneous Speaking
• Tanya and Diana were also in the elimination rounds of Public Forum Debate.
• Sarah Grace Withers: 5th place, Lincoln Douglas Debate
• Cody Yao, Sam Winstel, and Sarah Grace Withers were all in the semifinals of Extemporaneous Speaking
