Pranay Varada, 4th grader at McCoy Elementary placed second in the state competition of the National Geographic Bee (GeoBee),
the youngest student to compete. Students from across Texas competed in
the state championship for the Geography Bee in Bedford on Friday, April
5, 2013.
The GeoBee contest had 100 students from across the state
of Texas. The students were split into 5 groups with 20 students in each. Each
group then had 8 preliminary rounds in which Pranay and 27 other students had
perfect score.
