Diver Connor Shackelford was among the event winners as Newman Smith’s swimming and diving team ended the dual meet season hosting DeSoto and Trinity Christian Academy. Taylor Mason won the 200 and 100 Free, and was part of two winning relays to help lead the girls to victories over DeSoto 220-42 and TCA 214-167.
The boys beat DeSoto 218-124, but fell to TCA 233-194. Principal Joe Pouncy was on hand as well as the team bid farewell to seniors Lewis, Shackelford and Austin Fox. Eric Drake was named the team’s tenth “Athlete of the Week!” for his continued improvement over the season.
