The relay team of Kazuomi Motoike, Sinjin Venegas, Yooung Jeon and Eric Arumugam took down two school records to finish off the swimming and diving dual meet season. The foursome smashed the 200 Medley Relay mark by almost 3 seconds and shaved another second off of the 400 Free Relay record as Ranchview hosted DeSoto and Trinity Christian Academy.
The boys beat DeSoto 183-126, but lost to TCA 235-164. The girls, led by victories from Maddie Worrell and Sarah Rovi, beat DeSoto 137-48, but also posted a loss to TCA 191-121. It was also “Senior Recognition Night”, when the team bids farewell to our departing seniors Venegas, Arumugam and Gary Sin. Principal Sherie Skruch was in attendance to hand out flowers during the traditional ceremony. Ivy Alshemary was named the team’s tenth “Athlete of the Week!” for her commitment and continued improvement this season.
