C-FB Divers Qualify for Regionals at 5A and 4A Competition

On Jan. 25, R. L. Turner diver Madeline Lowry took 3rd place in District 5A, qualifying for regional competition. Her teammate, Andrea Phillips took 9th place. In District 4A competition, the girls from Newman Smith High School took the top three places, with Brittany Noan in 1st, Gabrella Sanchez in 2nd and Brittany Kauffman in 3rd. NSHS Trojan Conner Shackelford took 1st place on the boys’ team in 4A competition. Creekview’s Wes Alexander took 2nd, Smith’s Christian Young taking 3rd, Ranchview’s Ilya leBoulch took 4th and Jesse Bales from Creekview took 5th place. The top 6 in each category qualified for regionals. Coach Eric Ognibene was named 5A and 4A District coach of the year.
