Turner FastTrack Wins First at NASCAR Student Racing Challenge

The Turner FastTrack RC Lions/METSA team competed at the 2011-2012 NASCAR Student Racing Challenge competition on Saturday, May 19 in Kinnapolis, NC and placed first in six events.

• 1st place- 2011-12 Points Race 
• 1st place- 2012 Finals overall 
• 1st place- Race events 
• 1st place- Aerodynamics race 
• 1st place- Creative Engineering 
• 1st place- Pit Challenge Competition 
• 2nd place- Oral presentations 
• 3rd place- Alternative Energy 
• 3rd place- Visual Design 

Students were rewarded with over $1,700 in awards and received two HPI High Performing Racing Cars totaling $1,400.

Thanks to LULAC, Judge Lena Levario (204th Judicial District Court), Mike’s Hobby Shop, and the US Army for their generous grants and donations supporting the FastTrack teams. Team members are Faustino Rocha, Jessica Le, Seth Bullis, Editmar Contreras, Ross Gaudet, Marcela Garcia, Cesar Ultrera, Nestor Sandoval, Monica Alderete, Margarita Herrera, Jesus Legaspy, and Eric Lanuza-Brown.
