To save costs on computers, secretaries and teachers at Country Place Elementary are now using terminals that access applications and files "in the cloud" (on the Internet) in lieu of using a hard drive. All of the contents of the device, including an optical drive, are contained in the flat-panel display.
Instead of replacing aging computers every 3 years, these terminals will likely only need replacing every decade, and come at a far smaller price point than a traditional computer.
