At the 4A Girls’ Golf State Tournament played last week in Austin, the Creekview girls’ team placed 4th overall. After finishing Day One in 7th place, the Creekview team had an outstanding Day Two team score of 311 to finish with a two day total of 650 and jumping them up three slots to finish just out of the medals. Individually, April McCoy finished second in the state (79/71 = 150) to win the silver medal and her teammate Jennifer Park tied for third in the state (75/76 = 151) one stroke back of McCoy. Other Creekview team members are Paige Nelson (90/79 = 169), Mica Eastin (95/85 = 180), and Anya Anders (95/88 = 183).
In addition, Newman Smith sophomore Eji Kwon represented C-FB as an individual medalist at the state tournament. She shot an 85/81 (166) which puts her in the top 30 golfers in the state.
Creekview is coached by Kerry Gabel and Newman Smith is coached by Patrick Horrigan.
