Hussain Lalani graduated Salutatorian from R.L. Turner in the Spring of 2009 and was a member of the Academy of Biomedical Professions. He organized the first blood drive through Carter Blood Care in the Turner gym in the Fall of 2007 and began a tradition which still continues today through student leaders in HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America).
Hussain recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Duke University with his Bachelor of Science. He majored in Neuroscience and earned a certificate in Global Health. Hussain will be attending Duke Medical School this fall and is passionate about empowering patients to take control of their health through their daily actions by using first education to increase their health literacy. Hussain is really thankful to the faculty of R.L. Turner and the opportunities he was given as a high school student as they have had a lasting impact in his journey to medicine.
