RHS Swim Team Place at Swim Meets
On Nov. 21, Sarah Rovi and Kazuomi Motoike provided the record-breaking
highlights for the Ranchview Wolves Swimming and Diving team. Motoike
clocked a time of 1:03.73 and Rovi turned in a 1:12.71 to set new school
standards in the 100 Backstroke at the Frisco Invitational. For
Motoike, it marks the first time he has lowered his own school record
set last season, while Rovi took down a time from 2008 by Naomi Muniz.
Both swims earned them top 16 finishes at the meet. Sinjin Venegas was
the top performer on placing, earning 8th in the 200 Freestlyle and 9th in the 100 Freestyle. Additionally, Ilya LeBoulch competed at the 5A TISCA Championship at The Colony, earning a 23rd place
finish against some of the top divers in the state. For her
outstanding work ethic, perseverance and her status as the overall point
leader halfway through the season, Sarah Rovi was named the team’s
fifth “Athlete of the Week.”
