Trojan Debaters Win Tournament & Qualify for State

On Nov. 19, the Newman Smith Debate Team competed at the Granbury Tournament, winning the tournament in two events and adding 3 more qualifications for the State Championship Tournament.

Individual results are as follows:

Michael Schrag -1st place Congressional Debate. Michael is now qualified for State in two events.

Tanya Rajan & Diana Pop- 1st place Public Forum Debate. Rajan is now qualified for State in three events. Pop is now qualified in two events.

Sarah Grace Withers- 3rd place Lincoln Douglas Debate. Withers is now qualified for State in this event.

Cody Yao, Michael Schrag and Sarah Grace Withers were all in the semifinals of Extemporaneous Speaking.
