Six CHS Students Place at Annual Japanese Speech Contest, Four Qualify for State

On Feb. 16, approximately 70 Creekview High School students participated in the 16th Annual Dallas Japanese Speech Contest at the Japanese School of Dallas located at Ted Polk Middle School. The event was sponsored by the Dallas Japanese Association, the Japan-America Society DFW and the Japanese Teachers Association of Texas. Six of the CHS Mustangs placed at the event, with 4 qualifying for the Texas State Speech Contest at Rice University in March. More than 600 high school students in the Dallas area are currently learning Japanese.

Division 3 (Level 3 Free Speech)
1st Place: Kennedy Schleicher-, qualifying for State
4th place: Kristin Wright

Division 4 (Level 4 Free Speech)
1st Place: Tristan Arizala, qualifying for State
4th place: Diana Kern
