C-FB Retired School Personnel Association Prepares Books for Elementary Schools

Volunteers with the C-FB Retired School Personnel Association (CFBRSPA) sorted and cleaned books to be given away to some C-FB elementary schools. Over the course of a year, the organization collects children’s books through donation and buys books at the C-FB Educational Foundation’s Gently Used Book Sale to give to students to read over the summer and to keep. The CFBRSPA work in concert with their parent organization, the Texas Retired Teachers Association in the Children’s Book Project. The Children’s Book Project began in 1998, and since its inception, more than 500,000 books have been placed in the hands of children to call their own. The CFBRSPA has collected over 2000 books this year to distribute to campuses this year.
