S.A.G.E. Students Build & Program Robots

Fourth grade students attending the Summer Academy For Gifted Education (S.A.G.E.) are learning robotics and computer programming with the use of LEGO MindStorms software. The students then journal data in preparation for 5th grade science next school year. Very cool!

Did you know? METSA Student Wins Pre-Calculus second annual E2 Brainiacs Mathematics Competition

METSA freshman Takahiro Yoshimoto won first place in pre-calculus at the second annual E2 Brainiacs Mathematics Competition at the University of Texas at Dallas.  Congratulations Takahiro. Read more about the competition here...

    Professional Jump Roper Shares His Love of Fitness with Students

    On June 15, students in Exploration Academy and S.A.G.E. saw a presentation by professional jump roper and certified personal trainer, Wllie Amos. Amos has been jumping rope for over 21 years and is a National and World Jump Rope Champion. He started a company, Jumpin' Rope Industries, to help young people excel at the activity. Amos encouraged the students to work out and exercise by demonstrating jumps and difficult maneuvers.

    June 2 School Board Meeting Photos

    School Board Approves New Start Times

    For the 2011-2012 school year, the C-FB ISD schools will have new schedules. The schedules for the schools are as follows:

    · Elementary School: 7:40 a.m. to 2:55 p.m.

    · High School: 8:20 a.m. to 3:35 p.m.

    · Middle School: 9:00 to 4:15 p.m.

    Office hours for other district facilities such as the Administration Building, the Community Learning Complex (CLC), and the Technology Learning Center (TLC) will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

    Congratulations to this year's honored Making the Vision Possible (MVP) staff members. While our teachers are the heart of the district, the backbone is a group classified as full-time auxiliary, paraprofessional, and non-campus-based support professional team members. The MVP award recognizes these employees for helping “Make the Vision Possible” … they support our classroom teachers so our students can achieve to the highest level possible. Employees were nominated by fellow employees for exhibiting leadership, innovation, service, cooperation, and teamwork.
