Congratulations to the Newman Smith Speech/Debate Team for winning the Regional 2-4A Speech Team Award and qualifying five students for the state competition later this spring.
Congratulations to Diana Pop, Sarah Withers, Tanya Rajan and Michael Schrag for placing third in Informative Speaking, first in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, second in Persuasive Speaking and third in Persuasive Speaking at UIL Regional Competition recently.
Sarah Withers also placed fourth in Informative Speaking qualifying for an alternate position for state.
Christa Schmidt and Christine Karenev placed fifth in Ready Writing.
Melissa Smith tied for eighth Place in Literary Criticism.
