Newman Smith DECA competed on Saturday at Lone Star High School in Frisco in district competition against more than 1,000 other competitors. The team had 68 students compete with 55 winners and three alternates. Our students will now advance to state competition in Corpus Christi on March 1-3 for a chance to compete in Salt Lake City, Utah for National DECA competition.

Creekview Speech Team Wins Tournament and Advances to State

The Creekview Speech Team competed at the Jasper Speech and Debate Tournament. Creekview placed 1^st overall out of 34 schools in attendance and also received the Overall Team Squad Efficiency award.  Sophomore Patrick Lyons was the top overall competitor.

C-FB Well-Represented at District 16 Wrestling Championships

C-FB was well represented at the District 16 Wrestling Championships last Friday.

As a team, the Creekview won the boys’ district championship.

Individually, Elijah Cook from Creekview was named the tournament’s outstanding male wrestler and Nina Machado from Turner was named the tournament’s outstanding female wrestler.

Creekview coach, Terry Wright, was named coach of the year.

R. L. Turner Women's Wrestling team competed at the District Wrestling Tournament. Senior Nina Machado was District Champion and received the MVP award for the women. Junior Heiley Garcia was also District Champion in her weight class.

Turner Band Students Excel at UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest

R. L. Turner Band students had a great day at UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest on Saturday.  Overall, 56 1st division ensemble medals (gold) and 35 1st division solo medals (gold) were earned. The campus also had 63 musicians qualify for the Texas State Solo and Ensemble contest in May. Congratulations.
