The Human Calculator Visits Blalack Middle School

On Oct. 9, Scott Flansburg, “The Human Calculator,” visited Blalack Middle School. Flansburg holds the Guiness World Record for being the “Fastest Human Calculator.”  He demonstrated his fast adding, subtracting, multiplying and division skills to students, and taught various methods on how the students could also quickly calculate numbers. He invited students to compete for the position of top “mathlete” on his site, http://www.mathletics.com. The grand prize for the top mathlete is an iPad and trip to New York for an interview on a morning talk show.
