On Oct. 18, Newman Smith’s swimming and diving team officially opened up the competition season, hosting Prosper. While Prosper took the point win, the Trojans swimmers had highlights including a new record.
Senior Adrien Lewis took the victory in the 200 IM that broke the school record. Lewis also added a win in the 100 Breaststroke, earning him the title of NSHS “Athlete of the Week.”
Connor Shackelford won the boys’ diving competition. Taylor Mason won the 200 Freestyle and joined Bryn Smernoff, Kaleigh Putter and Jacki Brewer on the winning girls’ 400 Free Relay.
