Smith Debate Wins at CHS Tournament

On Dec. 10, the Newman Smith Debate team competed at the Creekview Tournament with several students bringing home awards and Michael Schrag winning 1st place for the third tournament in a row.

Individual results are as follows:

• Michael Schrag: 1st place Extemporaneous Speaking, 4th place Impromptu Speaking
• Sarah Grace Withers: 4th place Extemporaneous Speaking, 6th place Impromptu Speaking
• Tanya Rajan: 2nd place Impromptu Speaking, Semifinals Extemporaneous Speaking
• Madison King, Cody Yao, Jenny Pham and Sam Winstel were all in the elimination rounds of the tournament.
