Kindergarten Registration for 2011-2012

Have a child starting Kindergarten next year? Kindergarten registration is for children 5 years old on or before September 1, 2011. Find out more info at www.cfbisd.edu/kinder.

Enrollment and Registration Information:

Students are eligible to attend school in the district in which they or their parents reside. A student who is at least five years of age and under 21 years of age on the first day of September of any school year and who lives within the district's boundaries may enroll. Children who are four years old on or before September 1 may enroll in the pre-kindergarten program provided they meet eligibility requirements. The district requires proof of residency.

Appropriate identification documents must be provided at the time of enrollment, including immunization records and a document such as a birth certificate that shows the student's identity, legal name and age. A copy of the student's records from the school the student most recently attended, if the student was previously enrolled in another Texas school or in another state, is required.

Before a student can be officially admitted to the district, appropriate registration forms must be completed and signed by the student's parent, court-appointed managing conservator or legal guardian. Students who are emancipated, married, or at least 18 years of age and living alone may complete the forms themselves.

To register, you will need:

• Social Security Card (if available)
• Immunization Record
• Two proofs of residency (current lease or mortgage, current utility bill like gas, water, electric, driver's license, voter registration, bank statement, insurance statement

On Mar. 23, athletes from C-FB, Coppell, Dennison and other districts compete at the 2011 C-FB Special Olympics Event at Standridge Stadium. Way to go All Stars! Check out the photos of the day's activities.

Way To Go! High School Students Make College Honor Society

Nine of our Early College High School students will be inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa College Honor Society at Brookhaven College.

Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society for students in two-year colleges. The society honors and encourages academic excellence and high character among community college students.

The good news about being eligible for membership, these high school students have finished at least 12 hours of college coursework and have earned at least a 3.5 grade average.

The Early College High School (ECHS) is a C-FB ISD high school located on Brookhaven College. The students earn a high school diploma while having the ability to earn a two-year associate degree.

Two Soccer District Champion Teams; Three Play-off Teams

We have two soccer teams that are 2011 district champions -- one in boys’ soccer and one in girls’ soccer for District 20-AAAA soccer. We have three soccer teams in the first of the UIL state play-offs. Games are Thurs., March 25 and Fri., March 25.

R. L. Turner Lions are the boys’ district champions. The Lions will play Paris North Lamar from District 19-4A in the bi-district round of the UIL state soccer play-offs on Thurs., March 24, at 7:00 p.m. at Standridge Stadium. R. L. Turner will be the home team. Ticket prices will be $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Passes accepted include the District 9-4A pass and the District 15-3A pass along with THSCA/TGCA passes. Faculty passes/employee activity cards will not be accepted for admission.



Creekview Lady Mustangs are the district girls’ champions. Creekview will play Sulphur Springs from District 19-4A in the bi-district round of the UIL state soccer play-offs on Fri., March 25, at 6:00 p.m. at Princeton High School.

The Creekview boys' soccer team also made the play-offs, finishing third in district play. The Mustangs will take on Paris at 8:00 p.m. on Fri., March 25, at Princeton High School, following the Lady Mustangs game. Ticket prices will be $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Passes accepted include the District 9-4A pass, the District 15-3A pass, and the District 13-4A pass, along with THSCA/TGCA passes. Faculty passes/employee activity cards will not be accepted for admission. Creekview will be the home team for both games.

Creekview Student Earns Highest Rank In Forensic League

Mitchell Ferguson earned the National Forensic League’s degree of Premier Distinction, the highest student degree in the honor society. A degree of Premier Distinction reflects sustained excellence in classroom activities, competition rounds and service projects. Students may earn points in six separate categories: speech, debate, congress, service, district, and national. Only about four hundred students out of NFL’s 112,000 student members receive the degree of Premier Distinction each year – about 1/3 of 1 percent.

Career and Technical Education in C-FB ISD

Career and Technical Education (CTE) in C-FB ISD is based on the premise that a rigorous academic foundation contributes to success in school and in life, that all students should be provided equal opportunities to succeed, and that career and technical education should complement and enhance academic preparation by enabling students to apply academic principles and technology skills to a variety of community and career situations. CTE classes provide an important link to opportunities outside the classroom which help engage students in learning.

Don’t Forget to Sign-up for Kacie’s Run

You still have time to register for Kacie’s Run which is Sat., March 26 at the C-FB ISD Standridge Stadium, 1330 W. Valwood Parkway, Carrollton.

We need runners, walkers and lots of supporters who just believe in a good cause! Remember this event benefits our Special Olympics Team – the All Stars.

Events include a 1 Mile Family Run/Walk and 5K Run. The 5K Run includes Champion Chip Timing conducted by RunOn! (http://www.runontexas.com/). Early registration fees are $20 for the 5K Run and $15 for the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk. C-FB ISD students can register for the run or walk for $10. We encourage online registration.

All Stars Day: Mon., March 21
You can also support our All Stars by stopping in at the Carrollton Chick-fil-A, 2652 Old Denton Road, on Mon., March 21 for breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you go through the drive-through, please tell the Chick-fil-A staff at the drive-through window that you are supporting Kacie’s Run. Persons who have registered online, can pick up their event t-shirts and bibs from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Carrollton Chick-fil-A.

Turner Hosts 1st Annual Prom Fashion Show

Better Off Apparel furnished 13 dresses and The Men’s Wearhouse furnished 13 tuxedos for students to model on stage in the fashion show. Better Off Apparel is giving away one free dress valued at $500 to one girl who attended, while The Men’s Warehouse is giving away a tux rental. Toni and Guy provided hair and makeup for all models.
