Fifth Grade Career Fair is a Big Hit
Seven hundred and fifty students from nine elementary schools attended the Spring Fifth Grade Career Fair on May 20th. During this event, the students were given a unique opportunity to meet and interview 100 business professionals about their careers.
Fifth Grade Career Fair Facilitator, Michelle Capener, commented, "The purpose of the career fair is to expose fifth grade students to a wide variety of occupational choices prior to their entry into middle school. Our fair is unique in that the students actually get to interact with our volunteers on an individual basis. The intent is for students to identify potential careers of interest and to continue to achieve academically in order to meet their career goals."
