Baseball Team Cleans Up Carrollton

The Newman Smith Baseball Team participated in a community service project to help clean up the City of Carrollton. 

The team is coached by Ivan Cedillo.

An Unsung Hero Amoung Us

 Ms. Christy Myers of R. L. Turner High School received the distinguished Unsung Hero Award during the Annual Teacher Appreciation Breakfast sponsored by the C-FB ISD Educational Foundation.  Ms. Myers was one of 17 teachers district-wide recognized for making a tremendous impact upon the lives of students.  These dedicated teachers go above and beyond the walls of a classroom in extending physical, emotional and spiritual support to students in need. 

Students Show Thanks and Giving

The Ranchview High School student council and football team bagged over 1500 bags of cookies to be given to a local Dallas Food Bank during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Blalack Middle School Honors Veterans

On Nov. 12, students and staff at Blalack Middle School welcomed veterans of the armed services, their families and first responders to celebrate their service for Veterans Day.

We Love C-FB - 2012 C-FB ISD Employee Survey Report

The HR Services Division of the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) conducted a survey of Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District (C-FB ISD) employees in February and March of 2012 at the request of the district. Results were compared to the employee surveys conducted by TASB in 2010 and 2011. Positive response rates in the 2012 survey were consistent with response rates reflected in the previous surveys.

Overall, Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD employees responded favorably regarding their own job satisfaction . As in previous years, meaningful work and support from their supervisors are the most important factors that contribute to their job satisfaction. Over 90 percent of employees like the work they do, feel good about their accomplishments, understand what is expected of them, and feel that their work is meaningful and challenging—all indicators of a highly engaged workforce. Most Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD employees (95 percent) understand how their efforts contribute to the district goals.

Creekview High School - "Hello Dolly" Musical

Tickets now on sale!

Everyone is invited to attend the musical "Hello Dolly" performed by the Creekview High School Theatre Department.

The performance runs Nov. 11-17, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Nov. 17 in addition to the 7 p.m. showing. Tickets are $14 and may be purchased at the show or online.

After The Bell Academy - Holiday Child-Care Program

C-FB ISD is offering an After The Bell Academy’s Holiday Child-Care program.

All students must pre-register ONLINE to attend. There is a $10 per family late registration fee for those who do not pre-register to attend, assessed on 1st day of holiday care. Pre-registration will guarantee your student a spot at your chosen holiday site.

Law and Criminal Justice Academy Student Tour

Eighth grade students interested in the Law and Criminal Justice Academy at Creekview High School are invited to tour the academy facilities. Parents are to drop off students at the high school at 7:45 a.m. on November 13. Students must bring a signed permission slip in order to ride buses back to their middle school campuses following the tour.

5th Annual Thanksgiving Soup Kitchen with Joe's Pizza

The Newman Smith Lady Trojan basketball program will be helping collect food items to help Joe's Pizza feed over 2000 Carrollton community member on Thanksgiving Day. Three canned food items can be brought to any home girls’ basketball game to receive free items from the concession stand in exchange.

There will be donation boxes in the hallways and classrooms at Newman Smith on November 6-16.  

Joe’s goal is to collect: 
1050 cans of corn 
1050 cans of green beans 
210 cans of cranberry sauce 
125 boxes of dry potatoes
